Bertrand is Head of Infrastructure Sector for Asia Pacific with 25 years professional experience having lead the Australia team (2014-2017) and launching Natixis Infrastructure activities in Montreal (2012-2014). Bertrand has been involved in a number of complex and innovative financing transactions and acted as Financial Advisor, MLA and bond underwriter for numerous successful PPP/ Renewable Energy and Telecom financing mandates both in Europe and North America (Equity advisor for Seaborn, Equity advisor for Hawaiki Submarine Cable, AirTrunk, CDC Acquisition, Grand Renewable, South Kent, Vent du Kempt. Bertrand is a regular speaker in telecom / finance conference, notably for topics related to telecom infrastructure.

Prior to Natixis, he spent 2 years with Dexia in Montréal, in charge of the project finance activities across the country. As such he managed the McGill Hospital hybrid financing transaction in 2010, the Halton Hospital financial close in 2011 and led an advisory mandate for the financing (equity and debt) for a 100 MW wind farm in Quebec in 2011/2012. Prior to being seconded to Canada, he spent 2 years in Dexia’s head office in Paris where he was involved in arranging PPPs in the infrastructure sector and corporate/acquisition financing in the telecom sector. He notably closed 2 “deals of the year” in 2010: the GSM-r PPP and O3b export credit and was involved in large debt restructuring transactions (Wind Hellas, Ono).

Before Dexia, Bertrand spent 14 years in various business development/strategy/finance roles in large telecommunication companies such as British Telecom and Cable and Wireless in Europe, leading global teams and heavily involved in wholesale activity and outsourcing/acquisition deals. He has been involved in various bandwidth and submarine cable transactions, mostly transatlantic and in the Caribbean region.
